PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed switch with high shock resistance suppressing the shock being applied in the thickness direction of a cantilever spring, related to mounting of a reed switch. SOLUTION: This reed switch is formed such that two reed pieces 1, 1 in which a contact and the cantilever spring are formed at the end part in the length direction, made of a magnetic material are sealed and fixed to the both end surfaces of a straight glass tube 4 so that the contacts are faced through the specified minute space, and the operation direction of the cantilever spring to the surface of a circuit board 6 is made always constant.
