PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating system of a vertical engine having an improved lubricating performance in respective parts in a crankcase. SOLUTION: In a lubricating system of a vertical engine 2, a crank shaft 10 is disposed inside the system in the vertical direction, and the lubricant is naturally dropped to lubricate other parts after leading lubricant to a journal 10c on the upside of the crank shaft. A ribbed folded wall 27a is arranged in the vicinity of a crank web 10a provided to the crank shaft 10 so as to surround the outer peripheral surface of the crank web 10a.
