PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate inspecting apparatus capable of detecting a fault generated on a profile part of an image. SOLUTION: The printing plate inspecting apparatus comprises a dirt fault detection processing unit for generating a (reference-object) difference image, an (object-reference) difference image, an inspecting reference edge expansion image and an inspecting object edge expansion image from the image to be inspected obtained by imaging a printing plate to be inspected and an inspecting reference image corresponding to the image formed on the plate and detecting the contaminated fault visualized in the (reference difference-object expansion) masked image mask-processed at the (reference-object) difference image with the inspecting object edge expansion image, and a withdrawn fault detection processing unit for visualizing the (object difference-reference expansion) masked image mask-processed at the (object-reference) difference image with the inspecting reference edge expansion image. |
