PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for blocking a call received in a wireless terminal are provided to protect a user from the call which the user does not want to receive by setting and registering a telephone number which the user does not want to receive and transmitting a voice or character message when receiving the call from the set telephone number. CONSTITUTION: If a telephone number of which a user wants to block reception exists, the user registers the telephone number and sets the blocking of call reception. If the user registers the telephone number in case that the user wants to receive only the set telephone number, the user does not receive telephone numbers which are not registered(S22). The user sets whether a call is received or blocked in a calling number representation restriction call menu, a call number confirmation impossible call menu, a specific number reception refusal menu and a specific number reception menu, and the user selects whether a voice or character message is transmitted when the call is received from a blocked telephone number(S23). If a specific number reception refusal is set up, the user writes a voice or character message and a wireless terminal transmits the written voice or character message(S24). If the user connects to a mobile communication company server(S25) and selects the setup of a call blocking setup service(S26), contents set in the wireless terminal are recorded and stored in a database of the mobile communication company server(S27).
