PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning member by which positioning of a composite printer can simply be made when a scanner mechanism of the composite printer reads an image. SOLUTION: This invention provides the positioning member that is used for the composite printer for reading an image in a capturing area formed at a position of an original platen apart from the end of the original platen on which an original is placed by a prescribed distance, provided with scanner mechanism, the positioning member is an L-shaped plate member and used for the composite printer and characterized in such constitution that the inner L-shaped part of the positioning member is placed in the capturing area when an outer L-shaped part of the positioning member is pressed into contact with a step of an L-shape formed at one corner of the original platen.
