PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing device and an image reproducing method that can reduce a processing time required to read and reproduce image data independently of the number of pixels of an imaging element. SOLUTION: The image reproducing device of this invention is provided with: a means (11) for generating a 1st image signal from an image signal; a means (12) for generating a second image signal whose size is reduced from the image signal; a first storage means (13) for storing the first image signal cross-referenced with first identification information; a second storage means (13) for storing the second image signal cross-referenced with second identification information; an image discrimination means (16) for discriminating that a storage device stores the second image signal; and means (17, 18) for reading either the first image signal or the second image signal on the basis of the result of discrimination by the discrimination means and reproducing an image. |
