PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the pit splitting of peach. SOLUTION: A pit splitting-preventing agent containing a water-soluble calcium salt or calcium ion is sprayed on leaf surfaces in a cell division period after flower abscission. This pit splitting-preventing agent can prevent the pit splitting of peach fruits and improve their storability without affecting the growth of peach trees. Since the pit splitting-preventing agent can be applied only by spraying on the surfaces of the leaves, labors for the application can be reduced. When the pit splitting-preventing agent is sprayed, the storability of the peaches can remarkably be improved.
