PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of providing pieces of print data suitable for individual printers via the Internet. SOLUTION: When provision of the print data is requested from the client 200, a server 120 requests printer characteristic information that represents print characteristics of a printer 210 to a client 200. When the client 200 transmits the printer characteristic information to the server 20, the server 120 sets print data generation processing conditions. Then, the server 120 generates the print data for the printer 210 according to the set print data generation processing conditions and transmits it to the client 200. The client 200 transfers the print data supplied from the server 120 to the printer 210 as it is and makes the printer 210 execute printing. |
