PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for a component mounting operation wherein the high production efficiency of the component mounting operation used to mount many identical components on a circuit formation body is realized. SOLUTION: A plurality of mounting nozzles 8 mounted on a mounting head 5 at the component mounting apparatus 1 are arranged in parallel to the component conveyance direction of the parts cassette 10, a plurality of component takeout ports 11 are installed at the parts cassette 10 in positions facing the plurality of mounting nozzles 8, and a plurality of components 20 can be simultaneously taken out from the single parts cassette 10 by the plurality of mounting nozzles 8. When the plurality of mounting nozzles 8 are arranged in a plurality of rows, the mounting efficiency of the components 20 can be increased, and, when the plurality of rows can be driven independently, a component takeout operation and the component mounting operation can be executed simultaneously in parallel. When a swiveling mechanism by which the whole arrangement of the mounting nozzles 8 is swiveled collectively inside a face parallel to the mounting face of the circuit formation body 41, the alignment direction of the mounting nozzles 8 can be optimized in the component takeout operation and the component mounting operation. |
