The drinking system, for a patient confined to bed, has a holder (1) for the liquid in a carrier (3) fitted to the edge of the bed under the patient. The liquid is sucked from the holder through a tube (2) When the tube is released, it passes through a red and hollow plastics hemisphere (6) with a diameter of 6 cm after a free run of about 28 cm. The hemisphere has a phosphorescent lit sign (8). The tube runs from the hemisphere down into the liquid holder, through a center opening in its lid (5).
