PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deaerating device for a laterally long bag packaging machine which seals the opening of a bag in a condition where the air in the bag is dearated by working gas pressure outwardly on the bag storing a product. SOLUTION: As a this laterally long bag packing machine, the main part of a bag B1 where a product A is sent is stored between a chamber 2 having a chamber case 3 and the conveyer belt 36 of a transporting conveyer 27 as a facing member. By the pressure of compressed air supplied into the chamber 2 through an air hose 6, the bag B1 is pressed to push out the air in the bag B1 through the back edge end part (b), as a communicable open end with a tubular packaging film Ft . The end part (b) of the dearated bag B1 is sealed by a lateral sealing means 23 for completing a bag packaged body P.
