PURPOSE: A fuel feeding system of a diesel engine and control method are provided to start an engine actively by automatically feeding fuel by a pump in a fuel tank to a fuel line between a fuel filter and a high pressure pump. CONSTITUTION: A fuel feeding system is composed of a high pressure pump(3) forming negative pressure with flowing fuel from a fuel tank(1) through a fuel filter(2) for injecting fuel to a combustion chamber of an engine(5) by an injection pump(4); a controller(30) detecting starting of the engine by using the high pressure pump; an operating unit pumping fuel from the fuel tank to the fuel filter according to the controller or starting the engine; and a gauge panel(60) indicating the fuel state from the controller. Load to the injection pump or the engine is prevented with pumping fuel between the fuel filter and the high pressure pump.
