PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for a rotary head, which is capable of cleaning rotary head without applying static electricity to a magnetic head. SOLUTION: This cleaning device 50 is provided with a shaft-shaped support member 5002 projected in a part of the outer peripheral surface of a rotary drum 1004 in contact with a magnetic tape 1 and a place of casing 20 facing the opposite side, and a cylindrical cleaning member 5004 supported on the upper end of the support member 5002. The support member 5002 is made of a metallic material, and electrically connected to the casing 20. The cleaning member 5004 is made of a electric conductive resin where carbon particles are dispersed. The cleaning member 5004 is electrically connected through the support member 5002 to the casing 20 while its outer peripheral surface is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotary drum 1004.
