PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fault spot specifying method and a fault spot specifying circuit, by which specification of the fault spot of distributing wires, including a comparatively long distributing bus bar, is facilitated. SOLUTION: A combination pattern of potentials to be applied to a plurality of distribution bus bars 1, 2, 3 is changed, and a potential is applied to each of distribution bus bars 1, 2, 3. Whether or not a power supply current caused by a short-circuit fault among the distribution bus bars flows, when the potential is applied to each distribution bus bars 1, 2, 3, is discriminated. Distribution wires which have a short-circuit fault are specified, on the basis of the combination pattern of the potentials applied to individual bus bars 1, 2, 3, and the discrimination result as to whether a power supply current by a short-circuit fault among the distribution bus bar flows.
