PURPOSE: A visual aid for visually handicapped person capable of sensing distance and color information of an object and then transmitting them through auditory sense during walking or activity is provided, thereby giving a user good information close to real visual information. CONSTITUTION: The visual aid comprises: a space sensing unit(7) for detecting a shape, position and distance of an object to be detected; a color sensing unit(9) for detecting brightness and color of the object; an A/D converter(11) for converting the detected analog signal to a digital signal; a control unit(13) for processing the inputted signal and outputting the processed signal; a sound transform unit(15) for transforming the input signal to a sound signal; and a sound generating unit for outputting the sound signal into a sound.
