PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and highly accurately detecting a multiple chain nucleic acid. SOLUTION: This method for detecting the nucleic acid contains a process for allowing a probe nucleic acid to interact with a specimen nucleic acid, thus hybridizing the probe nucleic acid with the specimen nucleic acid to form the hybrid multiple chain nucleic acid, and comprises allowing the hybrid multiple chain nucleic acid to interact with two or more multiple chain nucleic acid- affinitive compounds (the compounds have a discrimination ratio of >=1 between a single chain nucleic acid and a multiple chain nucleic acid) and detecting the interaction between the compounds. Therein, at least one compound among the compounds has the discrimination ratio of >=5, or at least two or more compounds among the compounds have the discrimination ratios of >=3, respectively. |
