PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system and a print managing method capable of performing efficient printer output by flexibly facilitating countermeasures to the state of printer and the request of a user. SOLUTION: In a network system where a plurality pf printer devices and a plurality of client devices and a server are connected through a network, the information of each operating state of each of those printer devices is stored in a first data base, and when the operation is reported from each of those printer devices, the information of the operating states of those printer devices stored in the first data base is updated according to the reported information of the operating states, and according as collation requests are issued from the client devices, the first data base is accessed, the client devices being the origins of the collation requests are information of the operating situations of those printer devices.
