PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrational energy absorber capable of effectively blocking leakage of lead spread on an outer circumferential face of a rod or an inner circumferential face of a cylinder to the outside of the cylinder, preventing reduction of a lead pressure in the cylinder during long term usage, and eliminating deterioration of an energy absorbing characteristic. SOLUTION: The vibrational energy absorber 1 is provided with the cylindrical cylinder 2, blocking members 3 and 4 blocking both end openings in an axial direction A of the cylinder 2, the rod 5 piercing the blocking members 3 and 4, the lead 6 densely housed in the cylinder 2, a resistance force generating part 7 provided in the cylinder 2 and generating resistance force in the rod 5 by a relationship with the lead 6 to resist axial relative movement of the rod 5 to the cylinder 2, annular seal members 10 and 11 having annular seal faces 9 slidably contacting a cylindrical surface 8 of the rod 5, and adjusting means 12 and 13 of variably adjusting pressing forces of the seal faces 9 to the surface 8 of the rod 5.
