PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems existing heretofore with work shoes that the instep is sometimes covered by a protector consisting of iron sheets, etc., having rigidity but if impact is high, the impact is transmitted to the feet through the protector and the protector fail to act as a protector. SOLUTION: This protractor for shoes has a core member which has rigidity and is formed to curve along the shape of the instep segment of the shoe and a buffer member which is disposed at the inside surface of the core member and buffers the impact received by the core member. The protector is attached to the shoe so as to cover at least the instep segment of the shoe. The core member has a curve to cover the instep segment of the shoe and a leg which prohibits the movement of the curve toward the instep segment direction in the state that the curve parts from the instep segment when the curve touches the ground upon receipt of the impact. The buffer member has the thickness which is reduced when the core member receives the impact and at which the lower edge of the leg is held at least upper than the base surface of the shoe when the core member does not receive the impact.
