PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing a black level or a white level of an image to be displayed on a liquid crystal display panel from lowering when the number of bits of display data to be externally inputted to a display control circuit is smaller than that of display data to be outputted to a drain driver from the display control circuit. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with the display control circuit for outputting n-bit display data (n is an integer) based on the display data externally inputted, and when the display data inputted externally is a m-bit (m is an integer, m<n) display data, the display control circuit outputs n-bit display data to a driving means of which the higher-order m-bit data is the m-bit data to be externally inputted, and the lower-order (n-m)-bit data is a [0]-level voltage or a [1]-level voltage outputted from the judging means.
