PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material for a color proof capable of forming an image with excellent stability and productivity based on area modulated image data, ensuring a high approximation to a print material and excellent in stability, productivity and dot reproducibility, and to provide a processing method. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material is laminated by coating a support with yellow, magenta and cyan image forming layers. The order from the support can be changed. At least one of the silver halide emulsion layers has >=90 mol% silver chloride content, which has been chemically sensitized with a gold compound under the presence of at least one of compounds of the formula R<21> -SO2 S-M<21> , R<22> -SO2 -M<22> and R<31> -S-S-R<32> (where R<21> , R<22> , R<31> and R<32> are each an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic group and M<21> and M<22> are each a cation) in an amount of 10<-9> -10<-4> mol per 1 mol silver.
