<p>An injection moulding or pressure die casting tool comprises two cavity plates(21,22) clamped(27,28) to respective carrier plates(23,24) and a centring arrangement(42,43) for accurately locating cold cavity plates on the hot carrier plates. In a process for exchanging the cavity plates(21,22) clamps(27,28) are released to detach the cavity plates from the carrier plates(23,24), the machine platens are opened and the cavity plate pair is removed as a unit. A second pair of cavity plates(21,22) is positioned between the carrier plates and the process reversed to lock them in position.</p> |
