PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air conditioner in which a user can alter the control information thereof. SOLUTION: The air conditioner 1 comprises an EEPROM 11 storing the interval time of defrost operation, the r.p.m. of a fan, the r.p.m. of a compressor disposed in an outdoor unit, for example, and a radio receiving section 9 connected with the EEPROM 11 and transmitting control information received by a portable telephone 25 from a server connected with a network to the EEPROM 11 wherein the control information downloaded from the server to the portable telephone 25 can be transmitted to the EEPROM 11 through the portable telephone 25 and the radio receiving section 9 in order to alter the control information stored in the EEPROM 11. The user can thereby alter the control information of the air conditioner 1 without requiring a dedicated writing unt.
