PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder and an image recorder capable of surely recording on both surfaces by preventing failure such as doubly recording on one surface by eliminating an error in sheet loading by determining whether or not a recording surface of a feeding sheet is prerecorded. SOLUTION: For attaining the purpose, the typical constitution of these sheet feeder and image recorder has a feeding tray for loading the sheet, a detecting means for detecting reflectance of a surface of the sheet fed from the feeding tray, and a storage means for storing information by receiving an electric signal transmitted from the detecting means, and is characterized in that the storage means compares prestored information with the newly received information, and determines whether or not the sheet is prerecorded on the basis of a compared result, and announces a result to a user by stopping feeding operation when the sheet is recorded. |
