PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp reduced in cost by reducing a lamp replacement cost, a high-pressure discharge lamp lighting device, and a headlight device for an automobile. SOLUTION: This high-pressure discharge lamp 1 is provided with an arc tube 2 provided with a translucent airtight container 5 having an insulating tube body 15 formed to extend in the tube axis direction continuously with one sealing part 14; a case 3 fixing the arc tube 2 detachably; and a high voltage generating device 4 provided with a pulse transformer 21 having a core 23 stuck into the case 3, and a primary winding 26 and a secondary winding 27 fixed to the arc tube 2 so as to be separable from the core 23 when the insulating tube body 15 is pulled out of the ring of the core 23.
