PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article retrieval system that is convenient to a user. SOLUTION: In using the article retrieval system to retrieve merchandise, the user inputs attributes such as merchandise dimensions, a price and a delivery period as retrieval conditions (S5) and simultaneously selects and inputs conditions such as a function, a price and a delivery period which are given priority when displayed as a priority mode (S4). When retrieval is started (S6), the article retrieval system analyzes input information of the priority mode and the retrieval conditions (S7), and performs retrieval on the basis of the retrieval conditions (S8). Furthermore, retrieved merchandise is rearranged in the order with a priority given by the user on the basis of the priority mode (S9). The user can obtain merchandise information in the order with the priority given on a display image (S10 and 11).
