PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide (1) a sheet type device which can actualize stable and sure display by rotating rotary particles in dielectric liquid with good controllability and (2) a sheet type display which has a small intensity of driving electric field causing the particles to rotate or migrate and improve the moving speed for display. SOLUTION: The sheet type display which makes display by causing the particles to migrate in a dielectric liquid with an electric field or causing particles having different colors and electric characteristics by hemispheres and changing optical absorption or optical reflection is characterized by that the volume resistivity of the dielectric liquid is >=1.0×10<14>Ω.cm for (1) and fatty acid salt is mixed with one of the hemispherical parts constituting a dichroic particle or one of two kinds of migration particles, or migration particles in colored dielectric liquid for (2).
