PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for an organic wastewater wherein the superior quality of the discharging water can be maintained even in the case of increasing in a BOD load, the treating efficiency is raised and the excess amount of generated sludge is greatly reduced in one of conventional methods without modification. SOLUTION: The method for treating the organic wastewater by using an activated sludge method comprises a process for adding sodium hydroxide.
