PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type massage apparatus having two massage units provided on a seat body and a back body and driven by one driving source. SOLUTION: This chair type massage apparatus is provided with the seat body 7 provided on the chair body 1, the back body 11 rotatably provided on the seat part, a first guide rail 22 provided extending between the seat body and the back body and having a bendable flexible part in the midway, a belt 28 endlessly running along the first guide rail, a first massage unit 35 provided on the seat body side and connected to the belt, a second massage unit 45 provided on the back body and connected to the belt to be driven to run in the same direction as the first massage unit by endless running of the belt, a second driving source 53 for causing the belt to endlessly run along the guide rail by reciprocating the second massage unit in the vertical direction of the back body, and an outer covering cloth 66 covering the upper surface sides of the seat body and the back body.
