PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire and confirm an image which is corrected to some extents immediately after radiation photographing prior to the acquisition of a final image, to improve the workflow of a user, and to drastically shorten a stand-by time required for re-photographing. SOLUTION: This image pickup method comprises a step for detecting radiation from a subject by using a radiation detector and acquiring the radiation image of the subject, a step for acquiring first characteristic data indicating the characteristics of the radiation detector, a step for executing the first correction to the radiation image by using the first characteristic data, a step for displaying the corrected radiation image, a step for acquiring second characteristic data based on its measurement whose number of times is larger than that of the first characteristic data indicating the characteristics of the radiation detector, and a step for executing the second correction to the radiation image by using the second characteristic data.
