The device is designed as a rectangular mat (1) with a vertical extension at the front (13) covering the front area of the step. Several holes (11, 12) are arranged along the rim (14, 15, 16) of the mat (1) at the rear and on both sides. Suction cups (2) with a circular base (23) and a cylindrically shaped top (22) are inserted into the holes (11, 12) from below. A pin with a circular cap (18) on top is inserted into the cylinders (22) from the top, keeping the mat (1) joined to the suction cups (2). Small control sticks (21) vertically positioned on top of the bases (23) can be used for creating a vacuum or for releasing the suction cups (2).
