PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the safe stoppage of operation without using an inert gas such as gaseous nitrogen in a hydrogen producing apparatus composed of a reforming part, a conversion part and a CO oxidizing part. SOLUTION: In the method of stopping the hydrogen producing apparatus, a cooling air supply part is provided in the reforming part, the raw material from a raw material supply part and fuel from a furl supply part are stopped at the time of stopping the operation, water from a water supply part and air from a CO oxidizing air supply part are supplied and when the temperature of the reforming catalyst becomes lower than a prescribed temperature, water from the water supply part is stopped and air is supplied from the cooling air supply part. |
