PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce lowering of display quality caused by generation of chrominance non-uniformity on a displayed picture and to reduce generation of a display defect in a peripheral part of the displaying region. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a pair of substrates 11, 12 stuck to each other via a frame shaped sealing material 13, a liquid crystal 14 sandwiched between both of the substrates, a reflection layer 111 formed on the liquid crystal in the substrate 11 and an alignment layer 116 formed on the liquid crystal in the reflection layer 111. The liquid crystal in the substrate 11 has a roughened surface region 11b and a smooth surface region 11a surrounding the roughened surface region 11b. The alignment layer 116 is formed in the roughened surface region 11b and the sealing material 13 is formed in the smooth surface region 11a. |
