Disclosed herein is a composition comprising: (A) a lubricant, and (B) at least one 5-alkyl-2-thione-1,3,4-thiadiazolidine compound of the formula (I) wherein R1 is a hydrocarbon or functionalized hydrocarbon of from 1 to 30 carbons atoms, R2 and R3 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon or functionalized hydrocarbons of from 1 to 30 carbon atoms and hydrogen, and X is oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen.
