<p>An apparatus for, and a method of, processing data synchronously for dividing and driving a plasma display panel, which can remove an additional memory and concurrently a time difference of processing data in the upper and lower sides by using a memory to be used in the existing moving picture edge processing block. The method comprises the steps of outputting data from an A/V section (10), aligning bits by a gray scale by subfields in a data alignment means (30), driving address electrodes by applying the data aligned in a data driver (40), and driving sustain discharge electrodes in a sustain discharge drive means (50) by a control signal from a sustain discharge control signal generation means, the method being characterizied by further comprising the step of removing an edge of a dynamic picture from the data of the A/V section (10) so as to form upper and lower data for dividing up-and-down and driving a plasma display panel, and processing the upper and lower data synchronously with dividing and aligning the upper and lower data.</p> |
