METHOD OF FINDING DANGEROUS SECTION OF DEEP-WATER PIPE LINE

FIELD: diagnosis of sections of sea deep-water pipe lines; monitoring of extensive deep-water pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: set of sonar transponders equipped with depth sensors is secured along section of pipe line being monitored at preset pitch and set of sonar transducers is mounted opposite said transponders at the same pitch. Vertical coordinates of various sections of pipe line are determined by output signal of depth sensors and horizontal coordinates are determined by time delay of re-radiated acoustic signals. EFFECT: possibility of obtaining information on bending of pipe line in vertical and horizontal plane, thus indicating its dangerous section. 2 cl, 1 dwg
