PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber for reinforcing a rubber product, capable of providing a rubber product having excellent oil resistance, for example, a timing belt usable for extremely long hours under the conditions that the timing belt is in contact with an engine oil. SOLUTION: This fiber for reinforcing a rubber product comprises a glass fiber coated with a coating film formed by a treating solution containing a water-soluble condensate of resorcinol and formaldehyde, a latex of a solid acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer and a latex of a liquid acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer.
