PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch which has a simple structure and is easily controlled, in which desired optical elements among a plurality of optical elements supported on a movable member are surely located on an optical waveguide. SOLUTION: A projected part is provided at the movable member located inside a groove which crosses with the optical wave guide and is filled with matching oil, a plurality of notches the number of which is equal to the array pitch of the optical elements on the movable member are provided on the side face of the groove. The movable member is moved by giving a first driving force with a micro pump, and the movable member is stopped by a braking force exerted by the engagement of the projected part and the groove. Further, a second driving force larger than the first driving force is exerted to start the movement of the movable member which is stopping due to the braking force. |
