PURPOSE: A security system using an input time interval of a password character and a method thereof are provided to cope with a leakage of a password and personal information effectively by setting not only characters including a numeral but time information between the input characters simultaneously when setting a password in a security system. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of user terminals(110,120) connect to an Internet banking system(200) through a network such as the Internet. The Internet banking system(200) includes a web server(210), a subscriber information server(220), and a password time information server(230). The web server(210) controls a general operation of the Internet banking system(200) and controls a data input/output of the subscriber information server(220) and the password time information server(230). The subscriber information server(220) plays a role of a database server for storing information(subscriber ID, password, and resident registration number) of many subscribers. The password time information server(230) plays a role of a database server for storing an input time interval between a password and a character set by each subscriber.
