PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge head having an orifice plate in which the orifice plate can be bonded accurately to a liquid channel, handling performance at the time of assembling work and reliability of capping at the time of printing can be enhanced by enhancing the rigidity of the orifice plate, while furthermore discharging performance and productivity can be enhanced. SOLUTION: A region for forming a discharge opening in the surface 10f of an orifice plate is recessed 11, an orifice plate 10 provided with a protrusion 13 at a part for forming an discharge opening on the back 10g of the orifice plate is formed by injection molding, and then a plurality of discharge openings 10a extending from the each protrusion 13 to the recess 11 are formed by irradiating laser light from the back 10g side. The protrusion 13 of the orifice plate 10 is inserted into a liquid channel 7 formed by bonding an element substrate 1 to a top plate 5 and bonded, through adhesive, such that the discharge openings 10a of the orifice plate 10 communicates with the liquid channel 7 thus manufacturing a liquid discharge head.
