PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize cost reduction by facilitating the working of side plates of a vane pump and to suppress a leakage of a working fluid from sliding surfaces of a rotor on the side plates in the case of a hydraulic coupling device of a power transmission system for a four-wheel drive vehicle. SOLUTION: Hydraulic components, such as oil passages, a check valve, and an orifice, are all disposed in a concentrated manner in the second side plate 32, one of the first and second side plates 30 and 32 with the rotor 35 of the vane pump P interposed between them. Communicating holes and communicating grooves in the side plate 32 formed in its thickness direction allow the side plate 32 to be manufactured by sintering molding, and its cost is thereby reduced. Further, the hydraulic components are prevented to the utmost from facing on the inner surface of the side plate 32 contacting with the rotor 35, thereby reducing the leakage of the working fluid.
