PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operator to recognize the completion of the mechanical connecting of the connector of an ultrasonic probe to the socket of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: In this ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1000, the ultrasonic probe 100 comprises a connector part 101 having a lock mechanism part 10 (a camshaft 13 extending through a connector 12, a conductive movable contact element and lock pin 1 protruded from the camshaft 13, a connector lock and release handle 14), and an ultrasonic prove body 100a. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus body 102 comprises the socket 2 having a connecting hole H to be connected to the connector 12, a lock confirmation contact 3 which makes contact with the movable contact element and lock pin 1 and conducts thereto when the connection with the connector 12 is mechanically locked, an LED 5 lighted at the time of conduction, and a safety circuit 5 allowing the start of scanning at the time of conduction. Accordingly, a trouble that scanning is performed in the state where the connection of the connector to the socket is imperfect can be prevented. The connection can be surely performed.
