WEAR RESISTANT COLLAR MADE OF SINTERED ALLOY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear resistant collar made of sintered alloy having excellent adhesion to a base material of aluminum alloy of a piston to be cast in. SOLUTION: Two annular green-compact half bodies (1, 2) are subjected as separate bodies to single-action pressing, respectively. The respective punch- pressurized planes (1a, 2a) of the resultant two green-compact half bodies are fitted together to form a green compact (3). The green compact is sintered to manufacture the wear resistant collar (5).
