PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for observing coke furnace interior surfaces, high in temperature and tubular or grooved in geometry, enabling a blanket view of the surface conditions with satisfactory resolution, to be installed just outside the insertion office for observing the inside where but a little free space is available. SOLUTION: The observation device 1 is characterized in that an image pickup device 3 is provided at the top end of the observation device 1 with the line of sight of the image pickup device 3 aligned with the longitudinal stretch of the observation device 1, that the image pickup device 3 has a conical mirror 6 on its line of sight, that a ring-shape image pickup element 33 of the image pickup device 3 observes an observation spot 31 which is linear on a structural surface inside the furnace, and that a signal and power transmission cable 7 runs through the observation device 1. The external circumference 2 of the observation device 1 is flexible, with a cooling water channel formed by a flexible 3-ply coaxial hose (24, 25, 26). The water channel comprises an outward channel 27, a return channel 28, and a turn-around section 29 located at the top section of the observation device 1. |
