PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a booklet printer which meets the necessity to reduce both perpendicular and horizontal spaces to a medium conveyance path and further, prevents a flaw in a part attributed to a careless operation to open a forward cover from occurring. SOLUTION: This booklet printer is equipped with the forward cover 11 which opens and closes a forward medium conveyance path 5 and a rear cover 13 which opens and closes a rear medium conveyance path 6, a ribbon cassette 28 being supported by the rear cover 13 so that the outside of the forward cover 11 is wrapped in parallel with the forward medium conveyance path 5. Consequently, a perpendicular space and a horizontal space to a medium conveyance path 3 are reduced. In addition, the rear cover 13 can be opened regardless of the state of the forward cover 11 and when the rear cover 13 is set in a closed state, a careless operation to open the forward cover 11 is inhibited by inhibiting an operation to reset a first engagement mechanism 31 for keeping the forward cover 11 in an engagement state with the help of a second engagement mechanism 35. Thus it is possible to prevent a part from being impaired by an interference between the forward cover 11 and the rear cover 13.
