PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device capable of vibrating a movable mass in a large amplitude without giving a large deformed quantity to an elastic member. SOLUTION: The damping device 1 is provided with a frame base 2 mounted on a structure to prevent vibration, a movable mass 6 supported to be horizontally and linearly transferable on the frame base, a first arm 12 rotatably attached to the movable mass at an end, a second arm 14 whose one end is rotatably fitted to the other end of the first arm and whose other end is rotatably fitted to the frame base and which vertically extends, a substantially horizontally extending elastic member 16 whose one end is fitted in between the intermediate part and the lower end of the second arm and whose other end is fitted to the frame base, and a substantially horizontally extending damper member 18 whose one end is fitted in between the intermediate part and the lower end of the second arm and whose other end is fitted to the frame base.
