PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a secondary battery capable of improving cycle life by effectively retarding elution of an alloy composition and keeping battery characteristics at low temperature for a long time by keeping the active surface on the alloy for a long time. SOLUTION: A secondary battery is constituted with a negative electrode mainly comprising a hydrogen storage alloy, a positive electrode mainly comprising a metal oxide, a separator, and an alkaline electrolyte, and the negative electrode is made of a mixture of a hydrogen storage alloy and a lithium composite oxide or a spinel composite compound. |
