PURPOSE: An electron gun and color CRT having the same is provided to allow astigmatism correction to be performed around the screen by forming electron beams with different sizes, while achieving improved focus characteristics. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for color CRT, comprises a cathode forming a triode portion; a control electrode(22); a screen electrode(23); first to fifth focus electrodes(24 to 28) forming an auxiliary lens and first and second quadrupole lenses; and a final accelerating electrode arranged adjacent to the third focus electrode, and which cooperates with the third focus electrode so as to form a main lens. The third focus electrode has a horizontally elongated electron beam passing hole having a size smaller than the size of the corresponding vertically elongated electron beam passing hole formed at the second focus electrode.
