Thread feeder - facilitating cutting of thread following breakage

Sewing machine thread feeder facilitating severing of the thread end following occurance of a thread break is formed by a rotary base plate mounted on a horizontal shaft and coplanar with a lever provided with a parallel spaced portion interconnected by a web having a pair of opposite thread guiding edges, the protion being bent in the direction of the rotary axis of the base plate from which it is spaced by a distance required for the passage of the thread. Web has a sloping edge which makes an acute angle with one of the thread guiding edges and an associated edge of the lever.
