A polyimide moulded body, in particular a polyimide membrane is disclosed, functionalised with a chemical group and a method for the production thereof. Said moulded body or membrane can be obtained whereby a starting material of a pre-prepared polyimide moulded body is brought into contact with an aqueous modifier solution for a period of 1 sec to 1 h, said modifier solution comprising at least one modifier substance at least partly dissolved therein, with a primary or secondary amino group or a similar amino group and at least one additional functional group per molecule, whereby the polyimide moulded body is brought to an elevated temperature either during or after being brought into contact with the modifier solution and then purified and dried. The membrane produced according to the invention can have a freely adjustable functionalisation and can have a high degree of functionalisation. Said functionalisation can be achieved in a simple and economical manner in an aqueous medium. The membranes produced according to the invention find application in technical, biotechnological and medical fields and as starting membranes for the production of affinity membranes. The membranes produced according to the invention can be used in particular for the separation of pyrogens from liquids containing said pyrogens and in particular for blood detoxification.
